As a passionate consumer of all things hot and saucy, I was delighted to try Dr. Inferno's Flaming Phoenix Roasted Garlic and Habanero Hot Pepper Sauce. My first impressions were something like "Holy $#@!, Doc Inferno isn't messing around!" and he's not...if it is HOT sauce you're interested in, Flaming Phoenix delivers in spades, which is how it should be, in my opinion. Now, as a budding connoisseur, I've sampled a variety of other genuinely hot(!!) hot sauces that delivered the heat, but nevertheless left me longing for something more. To my mind, it isn't enough for a sauce to simply be hot - flavor matters, complexity and character count, and this is where Flaming Phoenix really delivers the goods. This sauce is unlike any other I've experienced...it has a rich complexity that turned my staple breakfast: tortilla with a touch of mayo, pepper jack cheese and a fried egg (really just a delivery system for hot sauce) into something I craved enough to spring me from bed hours early, salivating like a sauce-crazed chow hound. Honestly, the mere thought of the stuff sends an all-caps message to my salivary glands to prep the red carpet for the King. Oh, and the ingredients? All natural goodness with not a nasty in sight!Ê Obviously, I'm a huge fan of this sauce and if it seems that I've gushed a bit too much, all I can say is that I've restrained myself to the best of my ability under the circumstances. Long live the King!
